Contractual performance of in-mine boreholes in active mines at the Ostrava-Karviná mining district (Czech Republic) has a tradition lasting over 40 years. Since the mid 1990´s the company has also been performing drilling works from the surface. The operation range of the borehole drilling programme outreaches the Ostrava-Karviná district and covers the whole territory of the Czech Republic and also Slovakia as concerns boreholes for heat pumps.
In-mine drilling works are performed in extremely complicated geologic conditions that constantly prove the professional qualities of our drilling teams and technicians. Valuable experience was gained on projects performed abroad - in Spain, Germany, Greece, Turkey and Switzerland.
The experience from mine workplaces have been successfully utilised at drilling works for underground constructions (tunnels, municipal collectors, etc.).
Drilling works from the surface are primarily oriented toward the removal of the consequences of mining activities (searching and survey of old mine workings, micropiles) and prevention from mine gas emissions to the surface (degassing boreholes). In closed black coal mines the company also drills boreholes to extract mine gas for its own needs.
Since 2001 the company has been constructing boreholes for heat pumps. Special plastic collectors sunk into the borehole by the drill rig crew will draw low-temperature energy from the rocks and by using heat pumps provide heating for residential and industrial buildings.
Drilling works are performed in close cooperation with special engineering activities of the company – logging in boreholes including interpretation and geologic assessment of the boreholes.
The Drilling Works Division has introduced and uses the integral system of management (QMS, EMS, BOZP).
